Have you ever sat in a classroom and wondered, "couldn't this be better?" I have fortunely been with teachers that have different methods of teaching. I've had a teacher that taught us recent events that affect us, as students and young teens, and events that we will have to handle in the future. Educational funds are being cut. Why? Teachers are not getting paid the amount they deserve. Why? We live in a society capable to do just about anything, but yet, the "resposible adults" take for granted our right for the best education possible. We are the generation that is going to take care of their mistakes and take care of their health. Does that make sense? Funds being constantly cut is ridculous. Every seat in every classroom is constantly full of students. In some classes, there are students that do not belong in the class and are only there because there is no other place to put them. The government should take care of the kids that live in this country with equality and fairness.
We need new books. We need more classrooms. We need more teachers. Politicians say that they will take care of the education of youth every four years, but I am still waiting for anything productive to be done. The government "for the people" should help "the people" by promoting educators. But not only promoting, but also supporting. It's funny how politics affect every day life. i have learn this through my Advanced Science Class and I completely agree. I have teachers that say their opinions to my face and I have no problem with that. They're the ones that have to live with it now, and I feel bad for them. I want to be a teacher in able to teach students that they have the ability to do whatever they feel they need to do to succeed in their lives and that they are capable exceed expectations. Teachers should be supported by parents and other outsiders. They are the ones that deal with kids that are disrespectful and the kids that hold a future in their hands

I agree with you 100% or more. Its horrible what is happening to our teachers. The fact that they are basically rearing our children should at least equal more pay and better supplies.
I agree also. How can you treat the people (teachers) in charge of rearing your children like this. Education has always been on a individual state level though. Maybe it's time to make it a more national effort. (I am not talking about NCLB).
I think US DOE should run the teaching exam programs and also eliminate all but the content exams. I know for a fact there are things that are in the exams that some of us have never seen.
I thought you should know
When I am done with studies.... I will have 1 masters and 2 bachelors. We need more role models. We need school boards that actually do things. Some gripe that there are too many yes men.

We care more about eating out every day, driving the most expensive car, and wearing the most expensive clothes than we do about education. People gripe about the cost of college on here everyday, but you don't hear them complaining about how much they will have to pay for the house of their dreams. There's a big mix-up in priorities going on in the US.

I am an educator as well as a student. I'm addicted to learning, so I couldn't agree with you more. The students need better... everything.
As a teacher, I can say that we need better teaching facilities. Some places are good, others are not so good. However, we still do what we can.
Right now I'm teaching in China. The facilities over here are utter crap. The education system feels like a step back to Little House on the Prairie days. I'm even teaching all ages in one day.
This lack of respect for education is all over the world, it seems. If I'm wrong, I'd like to know where I can go. I'd love to be in a culture where they actually respect education.

That's interesting. Most of my coworkers are Chinese. I have never asked them what schools are like, but I've heard that their parents highly value their childrens' success and education. One of my friends said that her parents both worked constantly, wore old clothes and shoes, and made other sacrifices just for her to go to college. She said it is much more competitive there, and people take it very seriously. She may have been from a different area, though. I think she lived in a big city.

I know. I deal with them on my webpage. Some are nice. English is not good. Some do speak the language. I am having to explain slang terms. It gets funny. They have their own share of bad bosses
