So, seniors at my school are out on whats called senior project. Basically a three week volunteer experiance we go out and be somebody, or some companies bitch for several weeks. Some people work for teachers, other go out into the community a bit more. I'm working with a local environmental agency. We're required to write daily journals, today mine reads:
Today I waded through wetlands, tromped through fields of poison ivy, got caught on pricker bushes, sank into mud fields (getting my pants royally mud spattered), spooked a Great Blue Heron, found myself on the wrong side of a water filled culvert, pounded five foot long signs into the ground two feet with this heavy, funky looking device, got laughed at by geese and ducks, almost got attacked by many small woodland creatures, got lost in developments and got completely frustrated trying to find small pins in the ground with yellow tops. All in the name of marking conservation easements. Who made surveyors markers so hard to find??
The journal sounds too negative. Why not see it from a happier side? Don't you like helping out? Going out and seeing such pretty things?
Aw man, I didnt see I had a comment! I do like helping out, a great deal. However on that I day I was particularly frustrated with what I was doing. I couldnt find the surveyors pins and was hauling all sorts of stuff through the woods!
