There is at least one post on the subject every day, and those blog posts that are about the subject seem to always get the most comments. Some of the really good blog posts are ignored while an incredibly badly written hot button post gets 20 comments.
In case you haven't figured it out by now, I'm talking about abortion.
What is up with everyone only wanting to discuss abortion?!
I know it is an important topic to many of you, but it's not the ONLY important topic. By now everyone knows every side to the abortion debate and most of your views and opinions as well. Why not talk about something that you haven't discussed 10 times already?
I've read some wonderful posts lately that get one or two comments and that’s it. Why? Because everyone seems to be busy chiming in on the already done (and redone and redone yet again) abortion posts. Yes, I’ve commented on abortion posts as well. I’m not saying don’t comment at all. I’m just saying the subject is completely overdone now and other equally important topics are being totally and completely ignored while people continue to post blog after blog on abortion.
Come on ya'll. Be creative! This site is supposed to be dedicated to progress.... we aren't doing much progressing if we're stuck on discussing the same topic over and over and over. There are thousands of other topics out there just waiting to be discussed.
If you need help finding a topic here are a few ideas:
Medical Advancements
History
Prison Reform
Education Reform
Electoral Reform
Foster Care Reform
And this might be a crappy list, but my point is that there are topics other than just abortion...
If you want to discuss abortion, fine. But, don't JUST discuss abortion (over and over and over and over again). Seek out the awesome posts and comment! And for the love of whatever it is you love, we don't need any new abortion blogs!
Having said that, I am now officially finished ranting for the week... I think.

I agree! So many topics have been completely played out like Foley, and the amish shooting. Also the news about the small plane crash.

It's getting very old with everyone doing the same topics over and over and over. Just in the past 2 days there have been at *least* 8 abortion posts. It's no longer a progressive topic, if it ever was a progressive topic. Now, if you want to talk about protecting people from unplanned pregnancies, that would be progressive, but abortion simply isn't. There are two (three, depending on how you look at it) sides to the issue and that's it.
I try to look at what everyone else is posting before I post something because I don't want to do the same thing over and over. I read your blog quite often as well because you're one of the ones that doesn't do the already done and redone and done yet again topics (for which I am eternally grateful by the way!)
Thank you for the compliment. I have not really been able to post anything progressive do to my work load, and the college application and scholarship process. Most of my day is very hectic, and I have not had the chance to stay with the current news and do a lot of research. I have however put two of my college applications up for critiquing, and I welcom anybody to criticise. It is the only way I can better my writing, by learning my faults.

I agree. Abortion is overdone, and not only that, you are never going to sway anyone's opinion on that particular subject so why bother?
I read your comment on the Harry Potter blog and thought it was hilarious. I agreed with you and posted one of my own.
Check my blog out and give me a comment!
Thank you! I thought maybe my computer was having errors and just printing the word "abortion" all over this site. (Just kidding).
It is a relevant topic; albeit WAY over-blogged. If you need ideas, turn on the news. Look out the window. Eavesdrop while waiting in line.
