Alligator attacks are not common in Florida. In the last 58 years, there have only been 17 known fatal attacks. In the last week, three fatal attacks have been discovered.
I wrote about one already, a beautiful model whose arms were found in the belly of an alligator, and the rest of her body was found in a canal. A 23-year-old woman was attacked by an alligator while snorkeling near Lake George. The people she was visiting the lake with was going to meet her and found her inside the gator's mouth. They started poking the alligator's eyes and tried to open its jaws, eventually freeing their friends. Sadly, she was already dead when she was pulled from the gator's mouth.
The third attack was on a 43-year-old woman from St. Petersburg. Her body was found in a canal, with animal bites consistent of alligator bites. The cause of death has yet to be determined, but they know the alligator attack played a part in it. Her purse was found near the water, and those who know her think that drugs may have been involved (she has a history of drug abuse).
Authorites are baiting traps, trying to capture the deadly alligators.
These stories just horrify me! I have always wanted to live in Florida, and now with all the alligator attacks, it is alot more dangerous than I ever imagined! These animals definitely need to be respected and feared to prevent this from happening again!

The only way to prevent this is to teach people. The DAm gators live in the river. If you go to their home, they will come out and eat you...it's common sense. It's florida!
Yeah, I think alot of the attacks have been provoked by people swimming in the lagoons and such. Why would you do that if you knew alligators lived there????
That is what I say. Common Sense. Like, don't go into a Lion's den
