The fresh air

This site is all so new to me. Actually blogging in general is so new to me. Yeah i have a myspace, but do i use it to blog? that would be a negative. It was not only the possibility of gaining a scholarship that led me to this site. (Although that played a huge role). It was a place where no one knew me. No one can tell me I am wrong and no one judges me for reasons other than what I write in my blogs. This leads me to the whole higher education deal. I am loving the excitement I already have of applying to colleges at the end of this year, but which of those admissions officers really has the right to tell me if I am qualified enough to go to their school? Do they REALLY have the right to tell me that I dont want to go to their school badly enough. Do they REALLY have the right to tell me I can't get an education where I want because of my race/sex/ or test scores? Many of you would say yes, they do have that priveledge, but do they deserve it. What makes them so much better than I? This feeling is so strange. I dont know what to think anymore.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure I exactly follow you. I mean as for the admissions thing, yes they do deserve that privilege...that's their job. But, colleges can't discriminate on race or sex (unless it is an all male or all female college) and as for test scores, if they don't meet the requirements they can't just let you in because they feel nice today. It doesn't work like that. I'm sorry to say I can't really sympathize, partially because I never dealt with that. I applied to the one college I wanted to go and got in there, it was the only one I did apply to. But good luck with your future on the site and in your blogging adventures!

well most of what I was going to say was just covered by vern.

They definately have the right.

And ProUers will tell you your wrong with as many facts as possible when you are in fact wrong. Just write with passion, wisdom, and facts.

I hope you have fun here. Good Luck

sorry...didn't mean to steal your words there...lol

but T is right about the wrong part...if that made sense...I've seen (and been involved in) more than my fair share of heated arguments on this site...so I'd warn you to be prepared to defend yourself.
but again..good luck
