The worse thing that came from the Katrina mess has to be the "Race Card". This should have been a time when we all come together and help one another. I feel like the media has pulled out this idea of not helping Louisiana due to the race of most people there just to have more story. Now, I'm not going to sit here and tell you that it has nothing to do with race because I really don't know.
The fact is: Now people are more distracted with almost non-existant racism in Louisiana. I personally, have not seen nor been a part of any sort of discrimination against anyone. But it is under my observation that most racism is in other parts of the country. If anything, Louisiana (New Orleans) has become some much more free about it all. This distraction, I feel, is holding some people back. If only the media would stick to the actual issue. And that issue is...We need help. Lets all work together and bring back our home.
This, I remind you, is only my observations.
