Eating right for your blood type

Tagged:  •    •    •

At first I thought this was all in the mind of the people telling me about it. However, it seems to be true.

For those unfamiliar eating right for your blood type is an eating plan where you choose foods based on your blood type. For example I am a B and according to this program chicken has a very negative effect on B types, thus we should not eat it.

I should backtrack for a second. For the past few years I have just been groggy and miserable. Doctors could not find anything and in this past month things have gotten really bad. I have been sleeping for twelve to fourteen hours straight; I have gained 10 lbs and just cannot seem to lose it. Not to get too personal, but a few times a week I am either on the toilet or have my head in it. I called my aunt because, medically, she and I are identical. She convinced me to try eating right for my blood type. I decided to give it a go.

I have done it only for two weeks now and I can tell an amazing difference. I have always thought I ate somewhat healthy but some of those healthy foods were not working with my body. After two weeks I have lost a few pounds, am no longer groggy and can focus. Plus I have only been stomach since once! Once in two weeks is nothing for me.

I still do not know the science behind this and why it works. Like any type of eating program, it may not work for all. If you have had the same symptoms as I have and you have tried other things, I suggest giving this a looksy.

My number one source is my Aunt, but I suppose that does not count :)

I'm marking this for my own reference later... much too tired to try to read now.

I don't know if that's enough evidence that this system works. Sounds like a bit of post hoc ergo propter hoc to me-- you probably had a bug that happened to go away when you changed you diet. If you had been eating "wrong" for your blood type your entire life, why would you sudenly get sick?

I have had stomach problems for as long as I can remember, it's just gotten progressively worse.

Regardless of what or how it happened, I feel great now and my aunt has been using it for five years.

FYI - Because of your post I now know one more phrase in Latin. Hurray for search engines and hurray to you for expanding my very limited Latin vocabulary.

I try to be fairly coscious of my diet. Because I am a flavor-holic - I like to eat, cook, create mixes, etc. - I tend to read a lot about food and nutrition. I kept hearing about this theory, eating right for your blood type. Finally, a friend of mine's sister (who gives away her books as soon as she's done reading them... kind of cool) was giving away her book on this. So I started to read it and study it a little bit. I'm not one to buy into things, so I'm not completely sold on one way or another. HOWEVER, it's pretty astounding the things that they know about the human body and nutrition. I think in general, it's a good plan, and it makes a lot of sense. Many of the foods that are on the list for Blood Type O (that's me) to avoid, I have always hated (such as cashews, coconut, peas, among other things) - isn't it neat that the things we dislike in taste are not good for us anyway?? Although, there's the unfortunate ones that I do like a lot - like cheese - but like I said, I'm not sold completely one way or another. But for people who have struggled with health problems, I highly suggest a change in diet. You will be amazed at just how much better you can feel just by eating a good dinner. Just do a 2-day experiment if you don't believe it. Eat junky food all day one day, and the next day, fill your body with foods (such as on the list for your blood type, if you want) that actually nourish - pasta and veggies, fruits and grains, herbs, olive oil, some good protein (chicken, beef, fish, pork, turkey, whatever - but I'd stick with your favorite meat, because it's probably the best for you). Guaruntee, usually after just one day of that, you will notice a difference in the way you feel. Go for a week or two like that, whoo, it's awesome. Also, make sure you are exercising. :)

This has been your friendly neighborhood health plug...
