Tonight I am wondering about why our vernacular has degenerated so much. I have overheard many conversations on campus that contain so many words that are not, and probably never will be, in the dictionary. Why is it that we have created such lovely words as 'froyo' instead of frozen yogurt, 'preggo' or 'preggers' to explain that someone is pregnant, and 'jelly' to express jealousy at something? Are we really that lazy that we don't want to waste our breath pronouncing an entire word with all its syllables intact? Or are we just extremely creative when it comes to expressing ourselves?

Hey, new words are fun! We like to feel cool, and on the inside; in the know.
Try to deal with a language with it's roots in English but with lots of other slang, you get a language that only those of who live there for a long enough time can understand it.....
dis=this
dat=that
dakine= any word, depends on the context
tree=threee
shootz= ready
Da=the
mo betta= more better
plenny=plenty
I mean the list just goes on. if you want to see more of it or try your luck at interpretation pick up a Bible, seriously there is one called "Da Jesus Book" and there you will find all dakine slang/vernacular. Thank goodness we don't need a translator around you....sigh, but it would help. lol
oh shoot I'm sorry I got off the question you were insisting upon .huh you know, I think laziness is the root, but I think that bred creativity.....very interesting, laziness often breeds creativity like technology that allows to survive in front of a screen for weeks and enables us to never leave or go outside. lol
