Dictionary.com defines "progressive" as "favoring or advocating progress, change, improvement, or reform, as opposed to wishing to maintain things as they are; making progress toward better conditions; characterized by such progress, or by continuous improvement." I believe that Progressive U is really helping us to be progressive in our thinking.
For the past five weeks, I have been reading and typing blog after blog. I might not agree with every agrument, because of my religious beliefs; but it has helped me understand the other side of the agrument. Sometimes what people will say makes sense and sometimes it doesn't. Although we might not feel like we are saving the world through blogging for hours, we do help each other. We all express our ideas to each other and we can debate or change our way of thinking. One blog can do all that. You don't need to type mindless blogs just to add up points. If you write one well thought out blog, with a convicting agrument and people are able to read it and think more about the subject, you've progressed someone's mind.
Isn't that the whole point of all this blogging? As the defination said, being progressive is wanting to change. Obviously, we all want to change something in our lives wether it be political, personal, or religious, etc. because we chose to come to this website and enter this scholarship.
We should take what we believe and think from our blogs and live it out if we don't already. That's the way we will continue to progress even when the scholarship ends.
