How you post pictures on blogs

Tagged:  •    •

One of my favorite part of reading blogs is seeing pictures- I am a very visual person (a psychological term that excuses my laziness). I also love to post pictures to make my point. http://www.progressiveu.org/114053-in-africa-we-laugh-its-what-we-do-bes...

But for some time now, it has been impossible for me to post pictures. It's like someone took away a constitutional right. I have waited long enough, hoping that feature would come back like it left, but it did not.

So please, if any of you guys know how to do it, please let me know. Or, if you know who took that right away call 911.

I wish I could say I knew what you meant, but I really don't--as far as I know, everything should work. In rich-text, there's even an image insertion button--it's a little framed tree. I'm pretty sure you can't put images in comments, but for blogs (when working in HTML), it's [img src="yourimageurlhere.jpg"], but instead of brackets, the < and > signs.

I used to see that tree icon, but sometime ago it just disappeared.

This site should have a how to blog, because I don't know much about technology and computers and REALLY want to put a pic for my user name.

We used to have how to things in the FAQ... dunno where they went. Anyway, putting in a picture is easy.. you just go to your account, click 'edit' at the top, scroll down to the user picture box, and upload a picture from your computer.

I know that recently they made it so that text is now in non-rich text (i.e., it's plain HTML now), which you might have noticed with the change in font. Are there also none of the other bars and such? Did you try clicking the little blue link directly beneath the text box that says "enable rich text"? Otherwise, [img src="whatever"] (with <>'s instead of []'s) always works.

Oh my friend, thank you so much. That "enable rich text" actually brought it back. Thanks

Expect pics on my blogs now too! I am so glad I can figure out how to do that now! Thanks for the post (and the pics, especially the ones in Africa...it made me miss Kenya soooo much).

The simplest method is to enter non-rich text mode and type "<" img src="" then you enter the URL direct link to an image, close the " and then the ">" and then it will insert the exact image you linked to. For example. the URL to Dance! is "http://www.progressiveu.org/sites/progressiveu.org/modules/smileys/packs/BigSmileys/music.gif"
